Secora Antivirus checks files and URLs against a threat database that is bundled inside the App. When you scan a file, the file's SHA-256 hash (a fingerprint) is compared against this local database. The file itself never leaves your device.
For unknown URLs, the App may query trusted public threat-intelligence services to verify safety. Only the URL being checked is transmitted, never your identity or device information.
The App requests certain Android permissions to function:

The Safe Browsing feature creates a local VPN on your device to intercept DNS queries. This VPN runs entirely on your device — no traffic is routed to our servers. The VPN blocks DNS lookups for known malicious domains and forwards safe queries to public DNS (Google DNS 8.8.8.8).
We do not log, monitor, or store any of your browsing activity.

These services receive only the specific URL or file hash being checked. They do not receive your identity or other personal information.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to secure on our servers. All scan history and settings are stored locally on your device using Android's secure storage. You can clear all data anytime from Settings → Danger Zone → Clear All Data.
